Grobruket AB Sweden, a leading plant testing laboratory, has revealed some groundbreaking findings in a recent cultivation trial testing Abimax hydromagnetic water technology to determine its effects on pansy flowers. The results? Both spectacular and scientifically significant. Let’s dive into the details of this exciting trial.
The independent flower trials were funded by Spring Sweden, a Scandinavian supplier of the UK-designed Abimax Magnostream system. This innovative device attaches to your water source without plumbing, using magnetic fields to restructure water molecules. This allows plants to absorb water more efficiently and boosts nutrient uptake, resulting in impressive growth.
From Tap to Magnet: Testing Water's Potential to Boost Flower Growth

The Swedish trial aimed to test whether magnetised water could give pansies a bloom boost- accelerating flowering, increasing flower count, or promoting greater biomass- compared to those watered with regular tap water.
The trial included two groups, each with seven pots: a control group with standard tap water and a treatment group using magnetised water. On April 28, 2025, two seeds were planted per pot, and both groups were grown under identical conditions to ensure a fair and accurate comparison. The goal? To uncover whether this innovative water treatment can unlock new growth potential for your plants.
The results were nothing short of spectacular, providing compelling evidence that Abimax can be a game-changer in horticulture, offering gardeners and growers a scientifically backed solution for accelerating growth and improving flower yields.
Establishment & Viability: No Significant Differences in Germination Rates

The experiment began with the germination and establishment of (Viola × wittrockiana “Orange Sun”) seeds. Both the control group (watered with regular tap water) and the treatment group (watered with magnetised water) showed solid growth, with no significant differences in their establishment rates.
Control Group (Tap Water): 79% germination rate (11 out of 14 seeds)
Treatment Group (Magnetised Water): 71% germination rate (10 out of 14 seeds)
Although the magnetised water group had a slightly lower germination rate, this difference wasn’t significant enough to impact the initial stages of growth. The plants in both groups were off to a healthy start.
Time to Flowering: Magnetised Water Didn't Speed Things Up
When it came to flowering, there was no clear winner in terms of timing. The first flower in the control group appeared on June 23, while the treatment group didn't see their first bloom until July 26, a full month later. While the magnetised water didn’t accelerate the time to flower, the real magic happened in flower quantity.
600% More Flowers: A Dramatic Boost in Flower Count
This is where the Abimax magnetised water group truly outperformed the control group. After tracking flower development across 10 intervals, the results were sensational.

Control Group (Tap Water): An average of 2.29 flowers per pot by July 16
Treatment Group (Magnetised Water): A jaw-dropping average of 14.57 flowers per pot by July 16th = 600% more flowers!
That’s six times more blooms than those grown with regular tap water.
Diagram 1: Average number of flowers per pot over time
A statistical analysis (t-test) showed that the difference is significant (p = 0.020). This means that with 95% certainty, Abimax gave a significant increase in the number of flowers per pot compared to the control.
3X Greater Plant Biomass: Stronger, Healthier Plants
But it wasn’t just about the flowers. The Abimax treatment group also saw a threefold increase in Plant size (aboveground biomass). The weight of the individual plants showed a clear difference between the groups. The tap water group had an average weight of 3.2g per plant, while the plants in the Abimax group weighed an average of 10.5g. A statistical analysis (t-test) showed that the difference was significant (p = 0.028). plant biomass.
With healthier, more robust plants, magnetised water helped not just with flower production but also with overall plant growth. More flowers and more plant material? It’s a win-win!

Magnetised Water: The Secret to a Healthier, More Vibrant Garden
While magnetised water didn’t speed up germination or flowering, the results in flower growth and biomass were nothing short of remarkable. With a 600% increase in flowers and three times the biomass, this breakthrough suggests magnetised water could be a game-changer for boosting plant health and blooming power. If you’re looking to maximise flower yield and grow more vibrant plants, this study could point to a simple yet powerful solution.

‘’In summary, this trial verifies that treatment with magnetised water via Abimax has a positive effect on flower number and plant size in pansies. Although no one difference was observed in time to flowering, the effect on both the number of flowers per plant and biomass is statistically significant and biologically relevant’’,
Jenny Faxå – Gobruket AB Product Testing Scientist 17 July 2025
The Grobruket nursery thus verifies that the Abimax product can be used as a tool for growers who want to achieve stronger plants and more flowers. This verification is based on both statistically significant results and visual observations, which together confirm the product's effectiveness.
